Privacy policy
How Discerai uses, protects and lets you control your personal information.
Who this policy covers
This policy applies when you create a Discerai account, use study and AI features, publish community content, or visit the service. Discerai acts as controller for the account information described here.
Information we process
We process account and profile details; uploaded materials and exams; generated documents; chat and community content; topic progress and credit records; billing customer and subscription identifiers, payment status and limited transaction metadata; and limited technical data such as session identifiers, IP address and user agent. Card details are handled by the configured payment processor and are not stored by Discerai. Passwords and refresh tokens are stored only as one-way hashes by the API.
Why we use it
We use this information to provide and secure accounts, process study files, generate educational responses, maintain credits, moderate public content, calculate study progress, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal data.
Processors and transfers
Data is shared only with configured infrastructure, storage, AI and payment providers needed to operate requested features. payment provider processes hosted checkout, subscription management and payment events when billing is enabled. Provider access is limited by contract and configuration. Development mock providers do not send content to paid AI services.
Retention and account deletion
Data is kept only while needed for the service, security and applicable obligations. Account deletion removes identifying profile data, sessions, private study content, chats and stored private files. Public contributions are removed or anonymised where cross-user integrity requires it. Limited transaction and security records may be retained in pseudonymised form for audit or legal obligations.
Your rights
The profile page lets you access, correct and export your data and request account deletion. Depending on applicable law, you may also request restriction, object to processing, withdraw consent where used, and complain to your data protection authority.
AI-assisted processing
AI providers may process material, exam, chat and community content to answer requests or moderate safety. Outputs can be inaccurate and should be reviewed. Discerai does not use solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Questions and requests
Use the account privacy controls for export and deletion. For another privacy request, use the support contact made available by Discerai and include enough information to verify the account without sending passwords.
